When does the waiting period of a pregnant woman end?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And when does the waiting period end?
When she gives birth. If she has twins in her womb and gives birth to the first one, does the waiting period end? No, not until she delivers the entire pregnancy. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth وأولات الأحمال أجلهن أن يضعن حملهن
[At-Talaq 65:4]
Here, "pregnancy" is a singular noun with a possessive, which encompasses the entire pregnancy. Now, if she gives birth five minutes after the divorce, does she exit the waiting period? Yes, she exits the waiting period. Even if he divorced her while she was in the process of giving birth, and then she delivered in less than five minutes, her waiting period ends and she becomes permissible for other husbands.
