The waiting period of a pregnant woman in divorce.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And her waiting period—that is, the pregnant woman’s—is the delivery of the fetus, so even if only one minute remains after his divorce, her waiting period ends with the delivery of the fetus.
Even if he divorced her while she was in labor and the fetus was delivered five minutes or less after his divorce, her waiting period ends, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth وَأُولَاتُ الْأَحْمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَنْ يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ
[At-Talaq 65:4]
.
It has become widespread among the general public that a pregnant woman is not subject to divorce, and for this reason they often ask about a man who divorces his wife while she is pregnant: does the divorce take effect or not?
The answer is: it takes effect, there is no doubt in it, and there is no disagreement among scholars that the divorce of a pregnant woman is effective.
