[The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: (And he found Allah with him, so He gave him his due)]

What is the meaning of Allah’s saying:
But those who disbelieved - their deeds are like a mirage in a lowland which a thirsty one thinks is water until, when he comes to it, he finds it is nothing but finds Allah before Him, and He will pay him in full his dueوَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَعْمَالُهُمْ كَسَرَابٍ بِقِيعَةٍ يَحْسَبُهُ الظَّمْآنُ مَاءً حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَهُ لَمْ يَجِدْهُ شَيْئاً وَوَجَدَ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ فَوَفَّاهُ حِسَابَهُ
[Surat al-Nur: 39] The last phrase:
And he found Allah with him, so He gave him his dueوَوَجَدَ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ فَوَفَّاهُ حِسَابَهُ
?

The meaning: That the deeds of these people are like a mirage in a desert plain. This mirage is seen by the thirsty one, and he thinks it is water. When he thinks it is water, he will hasten toward it, thinking that salvation lies in it, so he hastens. But when he arrives, he finds it to be a mirage further away, and at that time he perishes even more.Meaning: (And he found Allah with him) means: when his appointed time arrived. This is what is meant by "with him." It is not that Allah the Exalted is in the place itself; for Allah is established above the Throne, exalted above the creation. But the meaning: That (he found Allah with him) means: his appointed time arrived, so He gave him his due.
