Explaining the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And every soul will be given what it has done, and He is most aware of what they do."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then He the Exalted said:
And every soul will be fully compensated [for] what it did; and He is most knowing of what they do. ووفيت كل نفس ما عملت وهو أعلم بما يفعلون
[Az-Zumar 39:70]
and *wafayt* means I gave, and the One who gives it is Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) to every soul, but the intended meaning is the soul that is given its due and reckoned. As for beasts, wild animals, and the like of those who are not subject to reckoning, they are not given anything of the reward for their deeds, but rather they become dust and disintegrate:
And every soul will be fully compensated [for] what it did; and He is most knowing of what they do. ووفيت كل نفس ما عملت وهو أعلم بما يفعلون
[Az-Zumar 39:70]
and He, meaning Allah, knows better than anyone what the creation does. Here I point out what some exegetes have held in their interpretation of His saying:
And He is most aware وهو أعلم
For some exegetes say
And He is most awareوهو أعلم
meaning He is the Knower, converting the name of superlative into the name of the doer. The reason for this is that the rule for the name of superlative is that the one preferred and the one compared to share in the original meaning, and the preferred one differs by what? By increase. They said that it is not possible for the Creator and the created to share in the original meaning. But this is an error, because we say: if you hold this reason, then *'Alim* is a name of the doer, and everyone who is described with knowledge shares in it. Undoubtedly, if it is said "so-and-so is more knowledgeable than so-and-so," it is more eloquent in praising him than saying "so-and-so is knowledgeable and so-and-so is knowledgeable." Therefore, the name of superlative is in its proper place, and it is more indicative of perfection than the name of the doer. So Allah the Exalted knows better than anyone what the servants do, and He (Glorified and Exalted is He) rewards them according to what justice or favor requires. This is where we end what we wish to speak of from what we have heard. In the Noble Qur'an there are clear, great verses, and one who reflects upon them can reach noble meanings far more than what we have mentioned.
Before we begin the lesson, I would like to point out to you that the deadline for submitting the competition papers has only twenty-four hours left. So whoever has something, let him give it to us so that he may receive the prize, if Allah wills. Do you understand the competition? We mentioned the competition on the first night.
The student: ... an addition

The Shaykh : No, we do not give them an addition. The competition is about the hypocrites: their conditions, their deeds, and their attributes, my intention, and thirdly, their end. Everything related to these three things that Allah mentioned in the Qur'an is to be written. We mentioned that either you mention the verse and then say: "And it is derived from it such-and-such," or you mention the attribute, condition, or end and say: "Because of the saying of Allah the Exalted: such-and-such." And I guide you to make use of the indexed dictionary of the verses of the Qur'an, for it will help you greatly in tracking the verses that mention the hypocrites, their conditions, their deeds, and their end.
