Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And the sky We have built with strength, and We are expanding it)]

Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Al-Dhariyat: 47] (The sky) is the object of a deleted verb, estimated to be: “And We built the sky,”And his statement: (With might) meaning: with strength,As Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said: [Al-Naba: 12] So, the hands here mean: strength, and are not the plural of hand as some people think, but rather they are the verbal noun of (aada ya'udu a'adan) just as it is said: he sells, selling (ba'a yabi'u bay'an), (We built it with might) meaning: with strength, and when a person reflects and contemplates on the skies, he knows that they are strong, severe, and immense, and that their strength indicates the strength of their Builder (Mighty and Majestic), (And We are expanding) meaning: We are expanding their vastness, and for this reason the skies are much larger than the earth, and they encompass the earth from every side, and thus they are wider than the earth, and the earth is, in relation to the sky, nothing but a small thing.
