The questioner : The honorable Shaykh says: Did the interpretation of "hand" as "power" occur anywhere other than this place in the Book of Allah?

The Shaykh : Where?

The questioner :
And the heaven We constructed with strength والسماء بنيناها بأييد
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:47]
.

The Shaykh : What came in the question?

The questioner : Yes, it is in the first one, but I abbreviated it.

The Shaykh : It slipped from you. May Allah forgive you.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : The saying of Allah the Exalted:
And the heaven We constructed with strength والسماء بنيناها بأييد
[Adh-Dhariyat 51:47]
. Do not think that "ayd" is ever the plural of "yad" (hand). It is a verbal noun (masdar) from the verb "ada," "ya'udu," "aydan." Like what? "Yakilu" (he measures) with "kila" (measure). Like "ba'a" (he sold) with "bay'an" (sale). So "ayd" here is a verbal noun; what is its verb? "Ada." It is never the plural of "yad." The meaning of "ada" is to be strong. "Ada" means to be strong. Accordingly, the meaning of "bi-ayd" is "with power." There is no figurative interpretation (ta'wil) in it at all. But some people thought that "bi-ayd" is the plural of "yad," and that is not the case. It is the verbal noun of "ada," "ya'udu," "aydan." Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : The questioner asks: What is the ruling on image-making with clarification, knowing that it has spread among you that you said it is permissible?

The Shaykh : The answer is that the time has ended.
