Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And do not make with Allah another god. Indeed, I am for you from Him a clear warner)
Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Dhariyat: 51] Meaning: Do not make with Him an object of worship that you worship.
[Surat al-Dhariyat: 51] And objects of worship are of various types and kinds: some people worship the sun, some worship the moon, some worship the stars, some worship animals, some worship trees, some worship stones, and some worship wealth; As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Woe to the slave of the dinar, woe to the slave of the dirham, woe to the slave of the khumayseh, woe to the slave of the khumaylah. If he is given, he is pleased, and if he is not given, he is angry) The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) made it clear that the one whose only concern is wealth is truly a worshipper of it, even if he does not bow or prostrate to it. However, his attachment to it in his heart, his concern for it, and his being pleased when he obtains it and angry when it is withheld from him, undoubtedly means that it has taken complete possession of his heart. But the worship of an object differs in its ruling: if he directs some of the worship to it, that is major shirk (associating partners with Allah). If he does not direct any worship to it, but his heart is completely attached to it to the extent that he leaves off obligatory acts and falls into forbidden things in order to obtain it, then this is a worship that does not take one out of the religion, but it is truly worship.
(Indeed, I am for you from Him a clear warner) He repeated this because of the importance of the subject.
So, we ask Allah the Exalted to grant us and you the taking of a lesson and benefiting from what we heard of the verses of Allah the Exalted. Indeed, He is capable of all things.
