Ruling on performing a surgical incision on a small child to open the stomach for feeding with milk
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
I previously asked you, O Shaykh, in a previous question about a daughter of mine in my care,And the consulting doctors said: that she needs an operation to open the esophagus, and the success rate of this operation is 8% and 92% is death, so you answered me by refusing that I should leave her to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), and now they have contacted me to perform an operation to open the tube,I asked them about this operation, they said: if Allah wills, it will have no effect on her, so what is your opinion, O Shaykh, should they perform this operation, knowing that the child is seven months and ten days old?
I say, may Allah bless you, my answer to this is: First: medication or treatment is not something whose success is certain, is it not?Even if the doctors said: 99% may succeed, it may not succeed.
As for what concerns the esophagus, I have already answered you, and I am still on my answer that you should leave the matter, as long as the operation is undoubtedly something involving intervention and wounding this person, and the success is small (8%), so I am still on my fatwa that you should leave her to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and if Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) wills to heal her, He will heal her; because He is the one who created her in the first place, and He is able to remove the illness from her.
As for if it is an attempt to open the esophagus without an operation, such as inserting tubes or similar things that may dilate it, there is nothing wrong with it; because there is no wounding or danger in it.
As for what concerns the stomach, the questioner: They want to open into the stomach and insert a tube to feed her with milk.
The Shaykh: As for opening something in the body in order to deliver milk to the stomach, this, if there is no harm in it, and this proceeds to the extent that they attempt to open the esophagus, then if Allah wills, there is nothing wrong with it.
