Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (His companion said: Our Lord, I did not lead him astray, but he was in far-off error)

Allah the Exalted said:
His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error."قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَكِنْ كَانَ فِي ضَلالٍ بَعِيدٍ
[Q:27] :- He claims that his companion is the one who led him astray, and the one who prevented him from the path of Allah,So his companion says:
Our Lord, I did not make him transgressرَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ
[Qaf 50:27]
I did not command him to disbelieve, nor to be stubborn, nor to be transgressive, nor to be suspicious, nor to associate anyone with Allah, I did not do this.
But he wasوَلَكِنْ كَانَ
Meaning: this disbeliever,
in extreme error.فِي ضَلالٍ بَعِيدٍ
[Ibrahim 14:3]
from the truth,At that time, we have two parties:- The stubborn disbeliever.
- And the companion.
The stubborn disbeliever claims that the companion is the one who misled him and led him astray, and the companion denies that.
