The factors that aid in memorizing the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! What are the factors that aid in memorizing the Qur'an?
The most important thing—may Allah reward you—Regarding the memorization of the Qur'an or other texts: is that a person memorizes it while he is young, because memorization in youth is faster and more lasting.

Then another thing: He should devote himself to what he wants to memorize, meaning he should not be occupied with anything else.

Third: He should review what he has memorized, because some people memorize but do not review what has passed, and then they forget it. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the review of the Qur'an and said: "Review this Qur'an, for by Him in whose hand is my soul! It is more likely to slip away than camels from their tether."
These are three things that are among the most important factors aiding in the memorization of the Qur'an.
And know that people differ greatly in the speed of their memorization and the speed of their forgetting, and the best of them are those who memorize quickly and forget slowly.
