The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 10494 )
Q 4: Is it permissible for a Muslim not to memorize anything other than Surat al-Fatihah and the two Mu'awwidhat, and not to attempt to memorize more?
A 4 : A person should recite the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) frequently, with reflection and action, and memorize as much of the Noble Qur'an as he is able to memorize, then review it thereafter so that it does not slip from his memory. In this lies much good. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
