A car driver who dies due to his speed is not considered a suicide

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

Your Eminence! If a car driver drives at a speed that leads to an accident and he dies, is he called a suicide?

I am putting the question to you just as I put it to the brother who asked about the smoker: Did he speed up in order to die?The questioner: No.

The Shaykh: So he is not a suicide, but he made a mistake. Whatever is a cause of destruction, a person must avoid it.because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And do not kill yourselves [or one another]وَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ
[Al-Nisa: 29] And 'Amr ibn al-'As cited this verse as evidence: that if a person exposes himself to cold from which he fears he will become ill, he has entered into the scope of the verse. 'Amr ibn al-'As was sent by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a military expedition, and he had major ritual impurity. The night was cold, so he performed dry ablution and led his companions in prayer. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him after the return: (Did you lead your companions in prayer while you were in a state of major ritual impurity? He said: O Messenger of Allah! I remembered the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful.وَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيماً
[Al-Nisa: 29] The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed until his molars or his canines were visible) in agreement with his use of this verse as evidence.
