[The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: (And the leg is joined to the leg)
What is the meaning of Allah’s saying: [Al-Qiyamah: 29]?
Read the verses before it:- [Al-Qiyamah: 26-30].
- The leg is the leg of the man. (And the leg is joined to the leg) means: one part is joined to the other, as a reminder to the human being that this leg by which he now walks and takes his steps will come a day when one part wraps around the other and it will no longer move.
And it is possible that the meaning is: (And the leg is joined to the leg) means: the hardships have accumulated; because the leg is used for hardship, but the first meaning is more eloquent and greater in depicting the state of the human being when his soul reaches the throat and he is asked who will read, and he is certain that he is parting, and his leg is joined to the other leg. This is more severe and more eloquent in warning and reminding of this state. We ask Allah to cause us and you to die upon Islam.

And the leg is wound about the leg,
وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِRead the verses before it:-
(26) No! When the soul has reached the collar bones (27) And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" (28) And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation (29) And the leg is wound about the leg, (30) To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession.
كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِيَ * وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ * وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ * وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ * إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ- The leg is the leg of the man.
