The Truth in the Meaning of "Saq"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: A student asks and says: What is the truth in interpreting the saying of Allah the Exalted:
The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able,يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَنْ سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ فَلا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
[Al-Qalam: 42]?
A: The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) interpreted it to mean that the intended meaning is the Day when the Lord comes on the Day of Resurrection and reveals His Saq to His believing servants. This is the sign between Him and them, (Glorified and Exalted is He). When He reveals His Saq, they will recognize Him and follow Him. If a battle is described as having "revealed its Saq," it means when it becomes intense. This is a known linguistic meaning stated by the masters of language. However, in the noble verse, it must be interpreted according to what came in the noble hadith, which is the revelation of the Lord of His Saq . This is one of the attributes that befit the majesty and greatness of Allah, (Exalted and Majestic is He), and no one resembles Him in this. Likewise, all other attributes, such as the Face, the Hands, the Foot, the Eye, and other attributes established by the texts, including anger, love, and dislike, and all that He, (Glorified and Exalted is He), described Himself with in the Noble Book, and what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us about Him, are all true attributes. All of them befit Allah, (Exalted and Majestic is He), and no one resembles Him in them, (Glorified and Exalted is He, and by His praise). As He, the Exalted, said:
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
[Al-Shura: 11], and He, the Exalted, said:
(1) Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, (2) Allah, the Eternal Refuge. (3) He neither begets nor is born, (4) Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
[Al-Ikhlas: 1-4]. This is the statement of the people of the Sunnah and the community, from the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and those who followed them with excellence among the scholars of knowledge and guidance. And Allah grants success.
