The ruling on one who denies the possession of humans by jinn
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is the ruling on one who denies the possession of a human by a jinni?
This is the view of the Mu'tazilah; the Mu'tazilah hold that it is impossible for a jinni to possess a human, but this is a claim that the Qur'an and the Sunnah refute.Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said regarding those who consume usury or interest: [al-Baqarah: 275] And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Satan runs through the son of Adam as blood runs." And he (peace and blessings be upon him) was brought a person who was possessed, so he recited over him and ordered the jinni to come out of him.
As for reality, it is observed that a jinni possesses a human and affects him, making him ill, frightening him, disturbing him, and agitating his thoughts, depending on the jinni's dominance over the human. On this occasion, I would like Muslims to employ two things: The first is to rely upon Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and to believe that their reliance upon Allah is above the power of the jinn, and that the jinn are humbled before the remembrance of Allah. As Allah the Exalted said: from the evil of the retreating whisperer) [al-Nas: 4] who retreats from the remembrance of Allah.
The second thing: That they should increase in the recitations that protect and preserve them, such as reciting Ayat al-Kursi, for whoever recites it in the night, a guardian from Allah will not cease to be over him, and no Satan will approach him until morning.
As for bowing down before these whispers and anxieties, that will only increase them. Satan may look into the heart of a person, and if he sees him as a cowardly, trembling one, he will dominate him; but if he sees him otherwise, he will stay away from him. Does not Satan flee from 'Umar ibn al-Khattab and fear him? And if he takes a path, Satan takes another path; because he is strong-hearted. And we know that Abu Bakr is like him or stronger, and we know that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is above that.
In any case: I advise my brothers to these two matters: relying upon Allah, and believing that the jinn are humbled, and that humans are more honorable in the sight of Allah than they are. And also employing the protective recitations as a strong fortress. If you feel fear, do you not hire guards for your house and your walk? Yes. So employ the guard that humans have no power over.and she: The recitations mentioned by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
