The ruling on killing game and its young in its presence

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
What is the ruling on killing game and its young that are with it?
Why do you not take its young with it?The questioner: For example, eggs.

The Shaykh: Kill it, even if the eggs are with it.

The questioner: Is it permissible? The Shaykh: It is permissible, as for the first one, it is not; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (forbade slaughtering a sheep while its sister is looking at it), and this is the sheep with its sister, so what about the mother with its young?!! And they mentioned a story I read long ago, they say: A man slaughtered a camel’s young in its presence, so the camel began to roll around its slaughtered or flayed young until it died from the intensity of its grief. This man was afflicted with madness, and I seek refuge in Allah, and he began to go out into the desert wandering. During his going out into the desert, he found a red bird, which is a known bird, whose nest had fallen under a tree, and in it were its young. It was circling, wanting to carry the young to place them in safety in the tree. It was unable to do so, and it continued to circle over its young and scream. This madman acted without reason; he took the young with their nest and placed them on a branch in the tree and enabled them to be in the tree. So the bird descended upon its young rejoicing, and Allah restored his reason. Glory be to Allah!! Because he did good to it, even if it was not intentional, Allah the Exalted rewarded him, because the benefit that extends to others is a cause for a person to be rewarded, even if it was not intentional. And this matter is something that a student of knowledge should be alert to. A person plants a crop and plants a tree, and the birds benefit from it. Did he intend to benefit the birds in the first place, or did he intend to benefit himself? He intended to benefit himself, but the benefit of the birds and the insects from it is a cause for him to be rewarded.
