The obligation toward the household of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
There are people who say: If their lineage traces back to the Ahl al-Bayt, for example: so-and-so, son of so-and-so, son of so-and-so, to al-Zahra or to 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, what is our obligation toward them, whether they are righteous or wicked?
In any case, if the claim of lineage is authentic, they are from the Ahl al-Bayt.But I am asking you now: The Ahl al-Bayt have the right of kinship with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); there is no doubt in that. But if they are open sinners or disbelievers, they have no right over the other upright Muslims, for there are others who are more deserving than them. But if they are like the others, they are more deserving because of their kinship with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
