What is the obligation of groups toward one another?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We begin with the question of Abu Hashim al-Hasan al-Buhari al-Husayn, from the Sudan, from the Institute of Education that remained from our previous meeting. Abu Hashim says in this question:
There are many religious orders in the Sudan, such as the Sufi orders, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Supporters of the Sunnah, the Republican Brothers, and many other names. He mentions the leader Mahmud Muhammad Taha, who claims that prayer was lifted from him, that meat is forbidden, and so on. He mentioned many orders. He asks: What is your opinion regarding this? And what is our position? Do we stand with one of these orders, or do we stand apart and independent?
May Allah guide you.

Answer:
The straight path is the path of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). There is no sound path, nor a good one, except the path of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It is the straight path, and it is the straight road.
As for the orders established by the Sufis, or established by others, which contradict the Shari'ah of Allah, these are not to be relied upon, nor are they to be heeded. In fact, all paths are blocked except the path by which Allah sent His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). That is the correct path, and it is the path that leads to Allah and to His Paradise and His honor.
As for titles, such as being called "Supporters of the Sunnah," or "The Muslim Brotherhood Organization," or "The Muslim Group," or "Such and Such Association," there is nothing wrong with these titles. Titles do not harm. The important thing is the action. If the actions contradict the Shari'ah of Allah, they are prohibited. Likewise, the Sufi orders: all the orders established by the Sufis that contradict the law of Allah are all reprehensible and not permissible. Neither the Sufis nor anyone else has the right to establish a path to follow other than the path of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), neither in the dhikr (remembrance) nor in other acts of worship. Rather, they must follow the path of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the path of our Prophet (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him). People have no other path. Rather, it is obligatory for all the people of the earth to follow the path of our Prophet, our Imam, and our Master Muhammad ibn Abdullah, upon whom be the best of prayers and peace from his Lord; in their words and their deeds. This is the path about which Allah said:
Guide us to the straight path -اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
[al-Fatihah:6]. And this is the path about which He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
And youوإنك
, meaning: He addresses the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
And indeed, [O Muhammad], you guide to a straight path - (53) The path of Allahوَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِي إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ ۝ صِرَاطِ اللَّهِ
[al-Shura:52-53]. Thus He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said in Surat al-Shura. This is the path of Allah, and it is the straight path of Allah by which Allah sent His Prophet and His intimate friend, our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
Therefore, it is obligatory for all the people of the earth to take this path and to be upright upon it. It is never permissible for the Sufis or for anyone other than the Sufis to establish another path, neither in their morning or evening dhikr, nor in anything else, nor in their summoning of their shaykhs during their prayer. All of this is reprehensible. However, if one stands in prayer or in dhikr and summons his Lord, having his Lord (Exalted and Majestic is He) in his heart, summoning His greatness and His majesty, and knowing that he is standing before Him, he should magnify Him (Exalted and Majestic is He), fear Him, and watch over Him, and complete his prayer and complete his worship in the best manner, according to what came from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). This is what is obligatory.
As for some groups naming themselves with something as a mark for them, such as "Supporters of the Sunnah" in the Sudan, or in Egypt, there is no blame in that, if the path is upright, if they follow the path of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and are upright upon it. Or like the Muslim Brotherhood, who named themselves with this as a term among themselves; it does not harm. But on the condition that they are upright upon the path of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and that they follow it, and that they magnify it, and that they believe that all Muslims are their brothers, whether from the Supporters of the Sunnah, from the Muslim Group, or from any place. They should not form a party for their own people and thereby oppose other Muslims. Rather, it is obligatory that these titles do not affect Islamic brotherhood.
However, if it affects them so that he is pleased for his party, and angry for his party, and brings close his party, and distances himself from those not of his party, even if they are better than his party, even if they are people of faith and piety, this is reprehensible. This is not permissible. This is division in the religion. And Allah says, Exalted is He:
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become dividedوَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلا تَفَرَّقُوا
[Ali 'Imran:103].
So if naming oneself "Supporters of the Sunnah," or "The Muslim Brotherhood," or such and such, affects the faith-based brotherhood, affects the cooperation in righteousness and piety; this is not permissible. They are brothers in Allah, cooperating in righteousness and piety and advising one another, no matter how varied their titles may be. But if they create a title by which they show loyalty and by which they show hostility, and they consider whoever enters it to be their ally, and whoever does not to be not, this is not permissible. Yes.
