Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (In a date palm with no thorns)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Waqi'ah: 28] (The date palm) is: a well-known tree, cool, with a refreshing shade, but do not think that the date palm in Paradise is like the date palm in this world; the name is the same, but the meaning is different,As Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Sajdah: 17] If what is in Paradise were like what is in this world, we would know it, but the name is agreed upon, while the reality of the thing differs, [Al-Waqi'ah: 28] meaning: that it has no thorns.
[Al-Waqi'ah: 29] (The banana tree) It was said: that it is the banana tree,And that which is full of fruit: Its meaning is that which is full of fruit, but even so, what is in Paradise is not like what is in this world.
[Al-Waqi'ah: 30] (Shade) meaning: it has no end, because there is no sun in Paradise, but it is shade; some of the Salaf described it as being like the light that is near the rising of the sun, where you find the earth filled with light but the sun is not seen, so it is (extended shade) meaning: extended in area, extended in time, always.
