(The types of trees in Paradise are of two kinds: one that has a counterpart in this world, with the date palm as an example, its description in Paradise, its evidence, and its benefit mentioned) Its trees are of two kinds

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "Chapter on Their Trees, Fruits, and Shadews".
Their trees are mentioned to be of two kinds: one that has a counterpart in this world, and one that has no counterpart in this world.
And he gave examples of the one that has a counterpart, saying: "Like the date palm, the root of the jujube", which is well known, I think, is it not so?
"Stripped of thorns, where *** the thorns were, there are fruits of various colors"
The date palm, which is the jujube tree, has thorns, but in Paradise there are no thorns in it. Allah the Exalted said:
And a date palm stripped of thorns وسدر مخضود
. Is that so?
The student: Yes, indeed.

The Shaykh : Good, "stripped of thorns" means there are no thorns in it, but in the place of the thorns there are fruits of various colors.
"This, and the shade of the date palm is among the best of shad *** es, and its benefit is refreshment for the bodies"
His saying: "This, and the shade of the date palm" means in this world, it is among the best of shadews and the coolest, and it also provides refreshment for the bodies; a person finds in it a sense of well-being and pleasure, which is the shade of the date palm.
And it is known that there is no sun in Paradise, so if there is no sun in it, and no cold or heat, but rather it is moderate, then it provides refreshment for the bodies and enjoyment.
"And its fruits are also of many benefits" and the fruits of what? The date palm "of many benefits *** some of which bring joy to the sorrowful"
This means that the fruit of the date palm has many benefits, and one can refer to medical books regarding this, among which is that it brings joy to the sorrowful and alleviates his sadness.
