Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (And they used to say, "If we die and become dust and bones")

And they also denied the resurrection:
(16) When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? (17) And our forefathers [as well]?"
[Al-Waqi'ah: 47-48] This means: they deny this with a great denial,They say: "If our bones decay and become remnants, will we be resurrected? And also, will our former fathers be resurrected? For this reason, they argue, saying:
Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."
[Al-Jathiyah: 25] This is a false argument,Because it is not said to them: "You will be resurrected today, but you will only be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. So how can you challenge us and say, 'Bring our fathers'? The Hereafter is not the present day, so that they could challenge and say, 'Bring our fathers.' We say that this will happen on the Day of Resurrection."
