Exegesis of His saying, the Exalted: (On the Day they will be dragged into the Fire on their faces)

Allah the Exalted said:
The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their facesيَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ
[Surat al-Qamar: 48] They are dragged as a corpse is dragged to be removed from the dwellings. They are not dragged on their backs, but on their faces, may Allah protect us,And it is said:
Taste the touch of Saqar."ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ
[al-Qamar:48] And Allah the Exalted said in another verse:
Then is he who will shield with his face the worst of the punishment on the Day of Resurrectionأَفَمَنْ يَتَّقِي بِوَجْهِهِ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
[al-Zumar:24] The one who used to protect himself from the heat in this world with his hands to shield his face, but in the Fire he has nothing to shield his face from the fire; rather, he protects his face—may Allah grant us safety—from it.Meaning: He has no protection to shield his face from the heat of the Fire, so they are dragged in the Fire on their faces.
This, my brothers, is not the tales of the ancients, nor stories that are told; this is a reality we testify to—by Allah—as if we see it with our own eyes. It must be so for every criminal: (On the Day they will be dragged into the Fire on their faces) And the ones dragging them are the angels assigned to them; for the Fire has angels assigned to it,And it is said: (Taste the touch of Saqar) .
Look, my brother! at the physical and spiritual humiliation, physical: which is that they are dragged on their faces, and spiritual: and that they are rebuked and it is said to them: (Taste the touch of Saqar) meaning: its scorching heat. And Saqar is one of the names of the Fire—may Allah grant us and you well-being.
