Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Indeed, We have created all things by decree)
The Exalted said: [Al-Qamar: 49] When He mentioned the punishment of the people of the Fire, and then He would mention the pleasure of the people of Paradise, He mentioned in between that this creation and its variation are by the decree of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). So every created thing is by decree, and every atom in a grain of sand is created by decree, and every drop that falls on the earth from the clouds is created by decree,And everything: encompassing everything other than the Creator; because there is nothing but the created and the Creator. So if everything is created, then the Creator is alone the First, before whom there is nothing, and the Last, after whom there is nothing, and the Apparent, above whom there is nothing, and the Hidden, beneath whom there is nothing.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Everything is by decree, even weakness and strength) Weakness means the laziness of the person,And strength: meaning the prudence of the person and his energy in seeking what benefits him and avoiding what harms him.
And in this noble verse is evidence that the human being is created by Allah the Exalted, and that his actions are created by Allah, and that everything has been decreed and concluded. And if that is the case, to whom does the human being turn when adversity strikes him? To Allah the Creator. And if he desires prosperity, he also turns to Allah the Creator. He should not boast or be proud of himself for having obtained what he desired, nor should he be despondent when he is struck by distress. The matter is in the hand of Allah,For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer) Strong in his faith, strong in his will, ambition, and energy. The meaning is not strong in his body. The strength of the body is either for you or against you. If you use it in righteous work, it is for you. And if you are unable to do it despite your doing it in a state of strength, it is written for you. And if you use this strength in disobedience to Allah, it is against you. But the meaning of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him and his family): (the strong) is: in his faith and his will. As for the strength of the body, it is either for you or against you,He said: (And in each is good) In both the strong and the weak there is good. And this phrase is called by the scholars of rhetoric a cautionary phrase;Because when he said: (The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer) The one who thinks that the weak believer has no good in him said: (And in each is good) And there are parallels to it,Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Hadid: 10] Meaning: before the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Hadid: 10] Both of these groups and those groups,Meaning: So do not think that this difference diminishes the status of the others and deprives them of good,And Allah the Exalted said: [An-Nisa: 95] So here the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, and in each is good. Strive for what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be weak) If you do that, you will strive for what benefits you and seek help from Allah, and you will be prudent, energetic, and strong in your intention,He said: (So if something happens to you, do not say: If I had done such and such, it would have been such and such. But say: The decree of Allah -Meaning: This is the decree of Allah - and what He willed, He did. For "if" opens the work of Satan) It is upon you to strive for good, and it is not upon you that what you want is fulfilled. The important thing is that everything is by decree, even weakness and strength. So whoever Allah has decreed guidance for, it is by decree. And whoever He has decreed misery for, it is by decree. But what is the cause of Allah decreeing misery for the servant? It is the same action, by the saying of Allah the Exalted: [As-Saff: 5] .
The Exalted said:
Indeed, all things We created with predestination.
