The Meaning of the Hadith: (Do not invoke curses upon your wealth or your children, for perhaps it may coincide with an hour of response)

[The Meaning of the Hadith: (Do not invoke curses upon your wealth or your children, for perhaps it may coincide with an hour of response)]

The honorable Shaykh (may Allah preserve him): We are also from the Eastern Province. I would like to ask about the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which he said: (Do not invoke curses upon your wealth or your children, for perhaps it may coincide with an hour of response, and Allah does not turn away a supplicant) What is the meaning of this hadith? And does that mean: If, for example, a person makes a supplication against something, or perhaps curses his child without right, does that mean that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) will answer him because it coincides with the hour of response, or what? The Shaykh: I will ask you: Who is it in whose hand is the response and the answer? The questioner: Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He.

The Shaykh: Does Allah (Mighty and Majestic) know who is in the right and who is in the wrong? The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh: Is it possible for Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to support an aggressor against one who has been wronged? The questioner: No.

The Shaykh: So! No matter how much a person supplicates without right, Allah will not accept it from him;Because Allah said in the Noble Qur'an:
Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors.ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعاً وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُ لا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ
[Al-A'raf: 55] ,And He, Mighty and Majestic, says:
Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.إِنَّهُ لا يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ
[Al-An'am: 21] So whoever makes a supplication without right, Allah does not accept it. Then, if he is an aggressor, the supplication may return to him and strike him, as came in the curse: that it ascends to the sky and is rejected, then it wanders; if its owner is worthy of it, it falls upon him, and if he is not worthy, it returns to the one who said it.

And as came in the authentic hadith: (Whoever calls a man a disbeliever or says: O enemy of Allah! and it is not so, it returns to him) to the one who said it.
But a person sometimes, when disciplining his children in anger, invokes evil instead of good,Instead of saying: May Allah guide you, may Allah reform you,May Allah expand your chest, he says: May Allah destroy you, may Allah do such and such to you. And some scholars interpreted His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He):
And man supplicates for evil as he supplicates for good, and man is ever hasty.وَيَدْعُ الإنْسَانُ بِالشَّرِّ دُعَاءَهُ بِالْخَيْرِ وَكَانَ الْأِنْسَانُ عَجُولاً
[Al-Isra: 11] with this,Meaning: that people invoke evil in a place where it is more fitting for them to invoke good, out of haste and impatience. And no gift has been given to a person that is better and more expansive than patience. Be patient with yourself, restrain it, and accustom your tongue, when your children or your family anger you, to supplicate for them with good.

Some people say: May Allah suffice us from your evil, will this reform him or not? It will reform him,We say: We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and from the bad deeds of our actions,So if he says to his child: May Allah suffice us from your evil, how much you anger me, there is nothing in this,But: May Allah take you, may Allah destroy you, may Allah blacken your face, may Allah not grant you success in this world or the Hereafter. This is forbidden.
Be patient, settle your soul, and supplicate for your family with good.
