Supplicating against one's children

Fatwa number ( 7420 )
Q: I had a child who was three years old, and like other children, he was prone to mischief and naughtiness. One day, at midday, he asked his mother for food, so she fed him until he was full and left some bread in front of him, as he had requested, and went to do her household chores. After about an hour, she returned and found that her aforementioned son had crumbled the bread on the floor and the bed. She became angry with him and supplicated against him, saying: “I ask Allah that you die and that no one else eats it.” The boy fled to his grandmother’s house, and she cleaned the place and returned to her household chores. Shortly after, the boy actually died, may Allah have mercy on him. Now, O Shaykh Abdul Aziz, his mother’s conscience is troubled and sick, and her conscience is reproaching her for what happened. She wants your eminence to issue a ruling to her regarding the words she said about her son, which actually came to pass. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A: One should supplicate for one’s children for guidance and ask for good for them, and it is not permissible to supplicate against them. In the hadith of Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Abi Dawud 1532Sahih (Al-Albani) It was narrated by Abu Dawud . This woman should seek forgiveness from Allah frequently and not return to such an act. She owes no blood money and no expiation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Do not invoke curse on yourselves, and do not invoke curse on your children, and do not invoke curse on your servants, and do not invoke curse on your property, lest you happen to do it at a time when Allah is asked for something and grants your request.
