The Ruling on the Obligation of One Possessed by Jinn When He Is Seized
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
There is a person who said to me: It has been established through the prescribed ruqyah, observation, and monitoring of his condition that, because he is afflicted with possession, some statements and actions of disbelief have come from him, may Allah protect us from that, such as insulting Allah and insulting the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) — we ask Allah for safety. And when he is questioned in his state of lucidity, he denies that he did that and is aware of it.And what is to be done toward one like this: Should he be boycotted, or should one be patient with him? And in the event of his death, what are the legal rulings required toward him?
He owes nothing, even if he left off the prayer; because he does not realize that he has left it off. This means that the jinn have rendered him unconscious and prevented him from having the will to do so. Therefore, his leaving it off is exactly like that of one who is coerced. So, by ruling, he remains upon his faith in this world, and, if Allah wills, in the Hereafter as well.
