The Meaning of His Saying, "Or do they say, 'A poet; we wait for him a time of misfortune'"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" أم يقولون شاعر نتربص به ريب المنون
[At-Tur 52:30]
These disbelievers who denied the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) called him a poet, and they lied in what they said, for Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says:
And We did not give Prophet Muhammad, knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur'an وما علمناه الشعر وما ينبغي له إنه هو إلا ذكر وقرآن مبين
[Ya-Sin 36:69]
