A word by the Shaykh regarding the interpretation of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "So remind, for you are not, by the grace of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. Or do they say, 'A poet? We wait for a misfortune to overtake him?' Say, 'Wait, for I am with you among those who wait.'"

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the righteous, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows, O my brothers, I have in mind to speak on two topics that we heard from the recitation of our imams in our prayers. The first topic is in Surat al-Tur, from the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(29) So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. (30) Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" (31) Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." فذكر بما أنت بنعمة ربك بكاهن ولا مجنون أم يقولون شاعر نتربص به ريب المنون قل تربصوا فإني معكم من المتربصين
[At-Tur 52:29-31]
to the end of His saying:
And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." وإن يروا كسفا من السماء ساقطا يقولوا سحاب مركوم
[At-Tur 52:44]
, or rather to the end of the surah. For in these great verses, Allah commands His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to remind the people, and with what He should remind them.
