The Meaning of (And of the Evils of Our Deeds)
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And of the evils of our deeds, likewise, evil deeds have evil consequences. [Ar-Rum 30:41] By what? [Ar-Rum 30:41] An evil deed brings about another evil deed and compels a person to commit another evil deed. For this reason, the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) said: "Indeed, sins are the herald of disbelief", meaning that if sins become trivial in your heart, the minor sin becomes trivial, then the major sin becomes trivial, and then disbelief becomes trivial in your heart, and you fall into disbelief, may Allah protect us from that. For this reason, it is obligatory for a person, as soon as he feels he has committed a sin, to seek forgiveness from Allah for it and to turn to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) with repentance and return, until its effects are erased, and until the heart is not sealed, and until the person does not reach this stage. [Al-Mutaffifin 83:14] We ask Allah to rectify for us and for you our public and private affairs, and to protect us from the evils of our souls and from the evils of our deeds. And, if Allah wills, in the next meeting we will speak about the rest of this great sermon, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught his Companions when there was a need. And success is from Allah. And as for the questions before us, which are many, we ask Allah to grant us success in hitting the mark.
