One who enters the state of ihram for Hajj and arrives from Sham, but is not a resident of Sham, and arrives in Jeddah: from where does he enter the state of ihram?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: A man came from Sham, and he is not a resident of Sham, and he wants to perform Hajj. Upon his arrival in Jeddah, he does not know from where he should enter the state of ihram. Is it permissible for him to enter the state of ihram from Dhul-Hulayfah, or should he enter it from Jeddah, because it is a place from which one enters the state of ihram? However, he went to the land of Sham to seek knowledge. Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you, and may Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : The people of Sham do not enter the state of ihram from Dhul-Hulayfah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) designated al-Juhfah for the people of Sham. And I think that if they are traveling by plane from the coast, they pass by al-Juhfah while being far from Dhul-Hulayfah, so they enter the state of ihram exactly as the people of Sham do. Unless this man is a resident of Jeddah and returned from Sham to Jeddah, considering that he is returning to his family, not that he is intending to perform Hajj. In that case, he goes to his family without entering the state of ihram, and when the time for Hajj comes, he enters the state of ihram. Yes.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : If he is intending to perform Hajj, he must enter the state of ihram from the miqat of the people of Sham. Yes.
