Allah the Exalted said: “And they plot, and Allah plots.” What is the nature of Allah’s plotting against the disbelievers?

The questioner : I mentioned, O honorable Shaykh, the saying of Allah the Exalted:
But they plan, and Allah plans وَيَمْكُرُونَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللَّهُ
[Al-Anfal 8:30]
What is the nature of Allah the Exalted’s plotting against the disbelievers?

The Shaykh : The nature of Allah the Exalted’s plotting against the disbelievers is mentioned by Allah the Exalted in His saying:
(182) But those who deny Our signs - We will progressively lead them [to destruction] from where they do not know. (183) And I will give them time. Indeed, my plan is firm.
[Al-A'raf 7:182-183]
This is the plotting of Allah the Exalted against His enemies: that He grants them respite and facilitates for them the means of sin and the means of disbelief, so that they continue in their disbelief and die upon it. This is part of the plotting. From this, we know that if Allah the Exalted tests a believing servant with a trial, that is a blessing from Allah upon him, because Allah the Exalted expiates his sins thereby, awakens his heart, and makes him realize that he has erred, so he becomes upright. But as for those who disbelieved, their good deeds were hastened for them in this worldly life, and they will find loss on the Day of Resurrection.
