The Shaykh : His saying:
And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners. ومكروا ومكر الله والله خير الماكرين
[Ali 'Imran 3:54]
This was revealed concerning 'Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him). The Jews plotted against him, but Allah the Exalted was greater in plotting than they. How so?
The student: He raised him

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student: He raised him

The Shaykh : He raised him and cast his likeness upon one of them, upon the one who took charge of the matter and intended to kill him. He intended to kill him, so Allah the Mighty and Majestic raised him. When this man who intended to kill him entered, and 'Isa had been raised, the people entered and said, "Are you 'Isa?" He said, "I am not 'Isa." They said, "You are he," because Allah the Exalted had cast his likeness upon him. This man who intended to kill 'Isa ibn Maryam was killed, so his plot returned upon him, returning upon him
And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners. ومكروا ومكر الله والله خير الماكرين
[Ali 'Imran 3:54]
