A man intended to break his fast in Ramadan while traveling, then changed his intention and wanted to complete his fasting. Is he considered fasting or has he broken his fast?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says: A man intended to break his fast in Ramadan while traveling, then changed his intention and wanted to complete his fasting. Is he considered fasting or has he broken his fast?

The Shaykh : If he intends, meaning if he resolves to break his fast, then his fast is not completed, because fasting is an intention. However, if he says, "I may break my fast if the heat becomes intense on me, or something similar," but he does not actually break his fast, then his fast is completed. The matter depends on his resolution: if he resolves to break it, he breaks it; if he does not resolve to break it, he does not break it.
