A man has workers who want to perform Hajj; should he allow them to go, and are they his responsibility, given that they do not attend the Fajr prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And whoever has surplus wealth, let him spend it in coins, food, or the like, for other needy countries or for the needy in his own country, because no country is free of needy people. This is the second point.

The questioner : He says: On which of the two should the abstention be based if they share?

The Shaykh : As for a man sharing a sheep with his wife, this is not valid, because two people cannot share in the value of a single sheep. The kind of sharing that involves multiple people applies to camels and cows, where one camel is for seven people and one cow is for seven people. As for sheep, it is never possible for two people to share in common ownership. The reward is not limited; there is no harm in saying, "O Allah, this is for me and for my wife, for me and for my family." However, if each of them offers half the value and buys one sheep as a sacrifice, this is not valid.

The questioner : He says: I have workers who want to perform the obligatory Hajj. Should I allow them to go, and are they my responsibility, knowing that they do not attend the Fajr prayer?

The Shaykh : I seek help from Allah. I say: If you permit them to perform Hajj, may Allah reward you with good, and be glad of the immediate replacement, for Allah will compensate you, if Allah wills, with something better than what you lose in work during the time of their Hajj. As for the fact that they do not pray the Fajr prayer, advise them and threaten them that if they do not maintain the prayers, you will send them back to their country. This is your right: to send back to his country anyone who does not establish the prayer. There is no good in him, and there is no good in a person who does not pray. As for permitting them to perform Hajj, this is considered a good deed on your part, and we hope Allah will reward you for it.
