I am a woman who strives hard in the matter of ritual purity, but I usually do not see the white discharge, so the duration of my menstruation becomes two weeks.

The questioner : The questioner says: I am a woman, O honorable Shaykh, who strives hard in the matter of ritual purity, but I usually do not see the white discharge, so the duration of my menstruation becomes two weeks. I do not see blood for more than seven days, which may decrease by a day or increase by a day. Then a brownish substance or murkiness comes out, followed by yellowish discharge, and then I see the moisture that comes out of a woman on ordinary days. As I mentioned, I do not see the white discharge in most cases. I ask you, may Allah reward you, to clarify this matter: When should the full ritual bath be taken from menstruation in such a case? May Allah suffice you from the worries of this world and the Hereafter, and from your parents and all the Muslims?

The Shaykh : If the menstrual blood stops and is followed by yellowish discharge or murkiness, it is not considered, meaning: the murkiness and yellowish discharge after the blood stops are not considered. This is because Allah the Exalted says:
And they ask you about menstruation. Say, "It is harm وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنْ الْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى
[Al-Baqarah 2:222]
and the harm is the blood. And Umm Atiyyah said:
We used not to regard yellowish and brownish discharge as anything important. كنا لا نعد الصفرة والكدرة شيئاً
Sunan an-Nasa'i 368Sahih (Darussalam)
This is the narration of al-Bukhari, and Abu Dawud has:
after purity as anything. بعد الطهر شيئاً
But how is purity achieved? Purity is achieved when the blood stops. Based on this, we say to this woman: As long as she sees menstruation, meaning: blood, for seven days, and then it is followed by murkiness or yellowish discharge, she should take the full ritual bath when the menstrual blood stops, meaning: when the seven days are complete. Then she prays and fasts, and her husband may come to her if she has a husband, even if she has yellowish discharge or murkiness. Yes.
