What is the ruling on boycotting a father who curses his children for their commitment to the religion, even though we have been patient with him for four years, and even though we maintain ties with our mother?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says:The questioner : We are four brothers, and Allah guided us through the hands of the eldest brother, but our father curses and pronounces curses upon us. We have endured and been patient with his harm to us for four years. We know that he associates with some people who assist him in sins and who do not maintain the prayer; in fact, he sometimes leaves it off entirely. In the end, we left the house and boycotted him. Do we sin in doing so, given that we maintain ties with our mother?

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for you to ask Allah for guidance for your father and to advise him constantly. It is not permissible for you to boycott him or to be undutiful to him, for Allah the Exalted said:
(14) And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination. (15) But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
[Luqman 31:14-15]
This is the situation mentioned by Allah Mighty and Majestic, where the parents exert effort to make their child associate partners with Allah, and yet Allah Mighty and Majestic says:
but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness
[Luqman 31:15]
So you must be dutiful to your parents, and perhaps your dutifulness to them will be a cause of their rectification. The implication of this question is that the mother is upright, but the affliction lies with the father. However, I say: be dutiful to your father, so perhaps Allah will guide him because of your dutifulness to him. Yes.
