How the meat of the sacrificial animal is distributed.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : So, once it is slaughtered, how is the meat distributed? We say that Allah the Exalted said:
So eat of them and فكلوا منها وأطعموا
[Al-Hajj 22:28]
,
So eat of them and feed كلوا منها وأطعموا
[Al-Hajj 22:28]
. And Allah Blessed and Exalted is He did not specify. But the scholars said: "He divides it into three parts, he divides it into three parts: one third for eating, one third for gifts, and one third for charity". But this is not something obligatory. It is merely an approximation. So he gives charity, gives gifts, and eats. And it is better that he hasten with it and hasten to eat from it, because Allah the Exalted said:
So eat of them and فكلوا منها وأطعموا
[Al-Hajj 22:28]
. Then, if he is unable to slaughter it himself, it is better that he be present for its slaughter. And we know that most people are able to slaughter a sheep or a goat. But a cow is difficult. It is difficult for a person to slaughter it. And likewise, a camel is difficult for a person to slaughter. So we say: If you do not know how, be present for it. Good. The owner is present. Does he say the name, or does the one performing the act say the name? The one performing the act. If he said the name and the one performing the act did not say it, the sacrificial animal becomes forbidden. Rather, it is the one performing the act who says the name. He says: In the name of Allah, O Allah, this is from You and for You, O Allah, this is for Muhammad, or for Ali, or for Khalid, or for Bakr and his family. And perhaps we will suffice with this amount of what we intended to speak about. And we ask Allah the Exalted to make it beneficial, and to grant us and you beneficial knowledge, righteous deeds, and good, abundant provision.
