What is prescribed regarding the distribution of the sacrificial animal, and is there a word for people who exchange the meat of the sacrifice among themselves and give nothing of it to the poor?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He said: You mentioned, may Allah guide you, the sacrificial animal. We find that with many people, social niceties and favors enter into it, and we find that the destitute and the poor do not receive any of it. Rather, it is "give me and I will give you," and so many people have done. So, if one gives to another, he returns the favor to him. What is prescribed regarding its distribution? Is there an exhortation for people to change this custom? And what is your opinion, may Allah guide you, regarding a group that wanted to collect the meat of charity and distribute it to the poor? What is your opinion if it is delayed beyond the three days of slaughter?

The Shaykh : As for the first part of the question, which is that the meat of the sacrificial animals has become a subject of favoritism and social niceties, "give me and I will give you," there is no doubt that this is not prescribed. This meat is an act of worship by slaughtering the animal for Allah, Mighty and Majestic. It should be in accordance with the will of Allah: a person eats what he wishes, gives as a gift what he wishes, and gives in charity what he wishes. Some scholars preferred that it be divided into three parts: he eats one third, gives one third as a gift, and gives one third in charity. This allows him to benefit himself by what he eats, benefit the poor by what he gives them in charity, and bring affection between him and people through what he gifts them. This is the preferred course. However, it is not obligatory that the distribution be exactly one third, one third, and one third. If he eats half and gives the rest as gifts and charity, there is no harm. Or if he eats half and gives the rest in charity, there is no harm. The majority of scholars preferred to divide it into three parts: one third for himself, one third for gifts, and one third for charity. As for the second part, which is collecting the meat of charity and then giving it to the poor according to their need, there is no harm in that. The important thing is that the slaughter takes place during the time of slaughter. As for eating the meat and distributing it, there is no specific limit for it.
