Is it permissible for a woman to leave her husband and young children and go to work in another country far from them, and what is the duration that Islam allows?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for a woman to leave her husband and young children and go to work in another country far from them? What is the duration that Islam allows for a wife to be away from her husband? And is there any harm in that?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is not permissible for a woman to travel except with her husband's permission, and it is not permissible for her to travel even if he gives her permission unless she is accompanied by a mahram (a relative one may not marry). This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a woman to fast while her husband is present unless he gives her permission, so how much more so is it regarding her traveling, leaving her husband, and leaving her children with him to be burdened with them?
It is also established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he forbade a woman to travel without a mahram. The husband has the right to prevent his wife from traveling, whether her travel is for work or for other purposes, because the husband is the master. Indeed, Allah the Exalted said:
And they found her master at the door وَأَلْفَيَا سَيِّدَهَا لَدَى الْبَابِ
"Her master," meaning her husband. He has authority over her and has the right to prevent her from traveling. He even has the right to prevent her from working, even in the same country, unless it was stipulated in the marriage contract. For Muslims are bound by their conditions. This woman should fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and be obedient to her husband, not causing him anger, so that Allah may be pleased with her. With this, the answer to her question about how long she remains away from her husband becomes clear: there is no specific duration; rather, she must remain with her husband. If he permits her at any time to travel with a mahram and with safety from fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), the choice is in his hand; he permits her as long as he wishes. Yes.
