The questioner : We know that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has prepared the Houriyyat (maidens of Paradise) for His believing servants on the Day of Resurrection in Paradise. So if there is a believing woman whom Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) admits to Paradise by His mercy, while her husband did not enter Paradise due to his poor deeds in this world, who will be her husband at that time? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
The Shaykh : We say, and peace and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon the questioner. The answer to this question is derived from the generality of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Fussilat 41:31-32] and from the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Az-Zukhruf 43:71] So if a woman is among the people of Paradise and is not married, or if her husband is not among the people of Paradise, then when she enters Paradise, there are among the people of Paradise those who did not marry men. I mean, those who did not marry men have wives from the Houriyyat, and they have wives from the people of this world if they wish and if their souls desire it. Likewise, we say regarding the woman: if she is not married, or if she was married in this world but her husband did not enter Paradise with her, then if she desires to marry, she must have what she desires, due to the generality of these verses. I do not recall a specific text regarding this issue, and knowledge is with Allah the Exalted.
The questioner : May Allah bless you. Also, from the questions of the listeners, he says.
The Shaykh : We say, and peace and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon the questioner. The answer to this question is derived from the generality of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish] (32) As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful."
وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنفُسُكُمْ وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ * نُزُلًا مِنْ غَفُورٍ رَحِيمٍAnd therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.
وَفِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ الأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ الأَعْيُنُ وَأَنْتُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَThe questioner : May Allah bless you. Also, from the questions of the listeners, he says.
