Discussion of the hadith of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab regarding the coming of Jibril (peace be upon him) to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions. As for what follows:
In last night's lesson, we did not discuss the important topic, which is the discussion of the hadith of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the coming of Jibril to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his questioning him about Islam.
We spoke in it about the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
We also spoke about establishing the prayer before last night. We mentioned that some people are negligent regarding the prayer and pay attention to what is less virtuous than it, to the extent that some people never pray at all, but go to fast, give charity, perform Hajj, and do many acts of worship that are far less than the prayer.
We mentioned that the one who does not pray is a disbeliever in a disbelief that takes him out of the religion, meaning that he joins the disbelievers like Pharaoh, Haman, Qarun, Abu Jahl, and other leaders of disbelief—seeking refuge in Allah.
We mentioned that the Book of Allah, the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and the statements of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) have indicated this. We mentioned that the consensus of the Companions has been transmitted that the one who abandons the prayer is a disbeliever.
Among those who transmitted this was Abdullah ibn Shaqiq, one of the Tabi'un, and it was transmitted from the Imams by Ishaq ibn Rahawayh.
After these evidences: the Book, the Sunnah, and the statements of the Companions.
