The questioner : Is a man whose sister breastfed a girl considered a mahram (a relative one may not marry) through breastfeeding?

The Shaykh : If a woman breastfeeds a child, he becomes her son, as Allah the Exalted said:
your [milk] mothers who nursed you وَأُمَّهَاتُكُمُ اللَّاتِي أَرْضَعْنَكُمْ
[An-Nisa 4:23]
And when he becomes her son, his father becomes his grandfather, his mother becomes his grandmother, her brothers become his maternal uncles, and her sisters become his maternal aunts. If her brothers are his maternal uncles, then if the breastfed child is a girl, her maternal uncles, that is, her mother’s brothers through breastfeeding, are mahram (relatives one may not marry) to her. And if the breastfed child is a boy, he is a mahram (relative one may not marry) to the sisters of the woman who breastfed him, because they are his maternal aunts. The evidence for this is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Breast-feeding makes unlawful (for marriages) the same things that blood tie make unlawful. يحرم من الرضاع ما يحرم من النسب
Sunan Ibn Majah 1937Sahih (Darussalam)
.

The questioner : We conclude this episode with a question from a female listener of the program who did not mention her name here. She says:
