Explaining the danger of the hypocrite to the Muslim community

The Shaykh : The scholars say that the harm of the hypocrite to the Muslims is more dangerous than that of the disbeliever. This is because you recognize the disbeliever as your enemy, so you take him into account and guard against him. As for this Muslim—that is, the hypocrite—you think he is with you, for you, and toward you; he is a Muslim who testifies and prays, and so on. But in reality, he is a hypocrite. Therefore, the danger of the hypocrites is far greater than that of the disbelievers who openly declare their disbelief, whereas the hypocrites conceal their disbelief.
