Explaining the Danger of the Hypocrites to the Muslim Community

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Let us look at whether the hypocrites who are among the Muslims and who profess Islam are enemies of the Muslims? Are they enemies? They pray with us, they fast with us, and when we go out for jihad, they go out with us.
And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers." وإذا لقوا الذين آمنوا قالوا آمنا وإذا خلوا إلى شياطينهم قالوا إنا معكم إنما نحن مستهزؤون
[Al-Baqarah 2:14]
So are these people enemies? Yes, they are enemies, and they are more hostile than the disbelievers, for Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, said in His Book:
They are the enemy, so beware of them. هم العدو فاحذرهم
[Al-Munafiqun 63:4]
The phrase
They are the enemy هم العدو
is a nominal sentence with both sides definite, indicating stability and permanence, that this is their state.
They are the enemy, so beware of them. هم العدو فاحذرهم
[Al-Munafiqun 63:4]
And Allah revealed a complete surah regarding them. In Surat al-Baqarah, at its beginning, Allah mentioned the pure believers, the pure disbelievers, and the hypocrites. How many verses did He mention regarding the pure believers and the pure disbelievers? A few verses. Regarding the hypocrites, there are many verses, more than the two other categories, due to their danger and the intensity of their hostility. We ask Allah the Exalted to purify the lands from them.
