The Shaykh’s talk about the Dajjal and the weakness to which the Muslims have fallen.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... The masses of Muslims today are deluded by such words as you hear from these preachers and the owners of those pens. They follow every barking dog and have seen from them nothing but empty talk. So what will be the state of this people, or this Ummah, which is far from the light of Prophethood and the Message, if they are satisfied with a man who says to the sky, "Rain," and it rains; who says to the barren, desolate earth, "Bring forth your vegetation," and it does; who says to the ruins, "Bring forth your treasures," and the treasures walk behind him? These people think they will see these miracles, as he claims, and they submit in submission. Why? Because they have not armed themselves with the correct knowledge. It came in some authentic hadiths that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard some of the Companions talking about the fitnah of the Dajjal. He drew their attention and asked, "What frightens you?" It is written on his forehead, "Kafir" (disbeliever), which the literate reads and the illiterate. Then
He is blind in one eye, and your Lord is not blind in one eye
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2245Sahih (Darussalam)
He is one-eyed, and it is written on his forehead, "Kafir" (disbeliever), which the literate reads and the illiterate. So those who follow this Dajjal with this tangible sign, what will be their state on that day? They will be among the followers of the Dajjal. Therefore, the Muslim—whether he is a scholar, a student of knowledge, a listener, aware, cultured, or not—should not follow every caller and barker. Rather, he should be as He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said:
Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him."
[Yusuf 12:108]
.
The point is that Isa (peace be upon him), when the Dajjal emerges from Khurasan from the east, will be followed by seventy thousand Jews wearing black cloaks. They will roam the earth and conquer all the lands except Makkah and al-Madinah, and then Bayt al-Maqdis. Isa (peace be upon him) will emerge from it, kill the Dajjal, and the Muslims will be empowered against the Jews. It is not as if these Jews will throw themselves into the sea, as that Arab Dajjal wanted to mislead people and say, "We want to throw them into the sea." In fact, these Jews will be thrown into the sea, and the original Muslim inhabitants will occupy Palestine, until the Dajjal comes and besieges Isa. He will emerge and kill him, and the Muslims will kill the Jews who came with him from Khurasan. Look now, what is in Khurasan? Khurasan now has many Muslims, but they were living under the control of the communists. The truth is as Allah the Exalted said:
And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people
[Ali 'Imran 3:140]
Palestine now has Jews in it. Isa will be there when the Dajjal comes. So we face astonishing developments, among which is what I asked earlier: Is the Mahdi the one who will conquer Rome? Allah knows best, but it will be conquered, without doubt. The first prophecy was fulfilled: Constantinople was conquered. Now it is Rome’s turn, the capital of the Pope, the capital of Christianity. So there are developments before us, but the truth and the right, I say, are that neither we nor our generation are the ones who will bring about these miracles. For I used to say, and I am in Damascus, when the occasion of this Prophetic glad tidings comes, which Ibn Abi Shaybah narrates in al-Musannaf with a sound chain from Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As, who said: "We were sitting around the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while we were writing, when a man said, 'O Messenger of Allah, will we conquer Constantinople first, or Rome?' He said, 'No, but Constantinople.'" So I used to say on such an occasion that Muslims today can conquer Rome, the capital of the Pope. Here the Jews have occupied Palestine, and all the Arab states together have not been able to do anything. These Muslims today—I used to say, and I still repeat—cannot conquer a village like Dumah. Dumah is a village twenty-five kilometers from Damascus, a large village. Muslims today cannot conquer a village like Dumah, let alone be able to conquer a capital like Rome. So the matter requires preparation, and that preparation which we constantly and always talk about is first the spiritual, faith-based preparation, and then comes the material preparation, as He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said in the Noble Qur'an:
And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy
[Al-Anfal 8:60]
There is no doubt that this verse was not revealed in Makkah, and thirteen years had passed since the call in Makkah. So they were addressed with this verse
And prepare
after they had prepared spiritually, after they had prepared spiritually, to arm themselves with material weapons. And the Muslims today, who have been prepared spiritually so that they can prepare materially, are doing nothing but stirring up emotions and saying "the Muslims are well" and so on. And the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) says:
There is no day but the one after it is worse than it, until you meet your Lord.
Sahih Ibn Hibban 51:19
.
The student: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
