The Shortcomings of Some Preachers Sent to Call People to Allah in the Countries, Who Were Given a Salary for It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And the Dar ... used to graduate Salafi students in creed, graduating those who graduated from them, and just as Shaykh Ibn Baz (may Allah remember him with good) used to send preachers from here and there, and so on, preachers who in his opinion were preachers to tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and to the Salafi da'wah (calling to Islam), but many of them take salaries and eat and drink ... and do not fulfill any of the obligatory duties. One of the students who graduated from Dar al-Irshad was sent to Sudan for the sake of da'wah. He was absent for a while, then he returned after a period to visit Shaykh Rashid Rida, and lo, he saw his appearance had changed. He had put on a huge turban and this robe, as Muhammad 'Abduh said: "A turban like a tower and a robe like a sack." He said to him, "What is this? It was not with Rashid Rida ... because in truth, among his virtues was that he used to fight the dress of the scholars, even though he had some pictures in a turban over a fez, but a turban is not what is meant ... as his Shaykh Muhammad 'Abduh mentioned. So when he saw him like that, he asked him about the reason. He said to him, "My master, there are Sufis and so on, things do not go well with our dress, we must change the appearance for the sake of the da'wah." He said to him, "This is not changing the appearance for the sake of eating, but for the sake of the da'wah." My intention is to say that those weak in knowledge and weak in faith, instead of developing, they develop [their shortcomings], and therefore, only those of firm resolve in men, knowledge, and faith can stand against the sweeping current, and we ask Allah to make us all among them. Oh Allah.
