What is the limit of free mixing? And what are the etiquettes for the movement of women and men in public streets?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : All right, O Shaykh, there is now a question related to this point: What is the limit of free mixing?

The Shaykh : The limit of free mixing is best known by Allah, and then by the one afflicted by it who feels that he is exposed to trial. For example, walking in the streets where women and men are today is a type of free mixing. This is because one of the Islamic etiquettes that has become forgotten in Islamic lands today is that the front of the road is for men and the sides of the road are for women. So today, women are jostling men with their shoulders.

The questioner : To Allah we belong and to Him we return. We seek help from Allah.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The questioner : The question, O Shaykh, is if some people who are careful to observe Islamic etiquettes, such as hijab, is it permissible for some women and men, for example, families visiting each other, to sit together to eat food? Is this possible with regard to modesty, such as riding in one car, for example, two families?

The Shaykh : I believe, based on my experience,

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : that modesty today does not exist in dealings.

The questioner: There is no power nor strength except with Allah.

The Shaykh : rather, it is a name without a body. But if what you say is realized, then it is permissible.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And may Allah protect you, if Allah wills.
