Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The questioner : I am from Algeria, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Go ahead, O Algerian.

The questioner : , O Shaykh.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : A marriage contract.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : It is permissible for the man.

The Shaykh : Raise your voice.

The questioner : Should I raise my voice?

The Shaykh : Yes, the voice is not clear.

The questioner : Is it permissible for the man to be alone with the woman he has contracted to marry and for her to display her adornment in front of him, or not?

The Shaykh : And more than that, if you wish.

The questioner : Listen to me, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Because some of the deviants.

The Shaykh: Did you understand me?

The questioner : Yes, Shaykh.

The Shaykh : What did you understand?

The questioner : I understood that more than this is permissible.

The Shaykh : Fine, then what about me and the young men?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : What about me and the young men?

The questioner : May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : And may He reward you.

The questioner : .

The Shaykh : Because some of the deviants, O Shaykh, as a result of this, had intercourse with the woman and then left her, so some of them issued a ruling that it is not permissible, blocking the means to harm.

The Shaykh : What means is this?

The questioner : The man has intercourse with the woman and then leaves her.

The Shaykh : Glory be to Allah, what is the difference between him having intercourse with her one hour, one day, one week, or one month after the contract? What is the difference?

The questioner : So that he can have intercourse with her.

The Shaykh : There is no power and no strength except with Allah. I tell you, what is the difference and what are the limits? When is it permissible for him to have intercourse with her?

The questioner : He told you when he signs the marriage contract, O Shaykh, when he signs the announcement.

The Shaykh : You said that the marriage is a contract.

The questioner : The marriage means in the mosque, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : O Shaykh, may Allah guide you, whether I tell you in the mosque or in the market, the contract is signed, when is it permissible for him to have intercourse with her?

The questioner : Yes, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : O Shaykh, may Allah guide you, I tell you, when is it permissible for him to have intercourse with her, after how many days?

The questioner : According to my knowledge, O Shaykh, this is the marriage contract, and then we sign the announcement and beat the hand drum, and after that he can have intercourse with her and she becomes his wife.

The Shaykh : And with the contract, she does not become his wife.

The questioner : It is like this with us, O Shaykh, they tell you the marriage contract makes her his wife, but it is not permissible for him to have intercourse with her until he announces and signs the drum.

The Shaykh : And where did this statement of impermissibility come from? Do you have any trace of knowledge?

The questioner : This is from Shaykh al-'Ayd, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : What about me and the scholars? I want the Book and the Sunnah. May Allah reward you. The matter is permissible. As for the other matters, the announcement and beating the hand drum, these are matters of perfection that have no relation to the contract. So the contract is valid

, and the matter is finished. As for what comes after that, it is part of the completion of the prescribed marriage, but it is not a condition. And peace be upon you.

The questioner : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
