Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In light of the topic of cursing, what is the ruling on cursing Satan?

The Shaykh : ... .

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : ... because the Messenger (peace be upon him) says in some of his hadiths:
Did they not ask when they were ignorant? Indeed, the cure for ignorance is asking. ألا سألوا حين جهلوا ؟! فإنَّما شفاء العيِّ السؤال
My daughter, cursing Satan in terms of his deserving it is permissible, because he is cursed and banished. However, it came in some hadiths that if Satan causes a person to stray or entangles him in a predicament, and this person curses Satan, Satan will look at his own state and say, "I am the one who did it, and I am the one who acted." Until the Muslim opens the door for Satan's joy in harming the person. It is not befitting to curse Satan; rather, one should seek help from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) against the evil of the accursed Satan. Did you understand the answer? That is, he deserves the curse; he has been cursed since the day Allah (Mighty and Majestic) ordered him to prostrate to Adam, but he was arrogant and said:
Should I prostrate to one You created from clay?" أَأَسْجُدُ لِمَنْ خَلَقْتَ طِينًا
[Al-Isra 17:61]
From the day Allah (the Exalted) said:
And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense." وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِي إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
[Sad 38:78]
, he is truly cursed. But since Allah has cursed him, his story is over. So if we say, "The curse of Allah be upon Satan," on the contrary, we bring joy and happiness to that Satan and make him understand through our reality that we are truly affected by him. The Messenger (peace be upon him) taught us and taught us well, and instructed us and instructed us well, saying: If one of you falls into that, do not curse him, for Allah has already cursed him. Rather, he should say: "I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan." Did you understand the answer?
