Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A woman who is thirty-seven years old has a problem with her menstrual cycle for about two years, where it lasts with her for approximately twenty days or twenty-two days. In the first days, she experiences dark discharge, coming down for a day and stopping for a day. Sometimes it lasts a full day, and sometimes it lasts half a day. Then in the last days, red blood comes down, and after two or three days, it returns to dark discharge, and so on. This happened to her last Ramadan, and she completed her fasting. She says: In this situation, is my fasting and prayer valid, or must I make up what I fasted in this month? And how should I perform my prayer in the future? May Allah reward you with good, O honorable Shaykh?

The Shaykh : This blood that affects her for more than twenty days is irregular non-menstrual bleeding. So she should return to her previous custom, if her custom before was seven days at the beginning of the month, for example.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : She sits for seven days from the beginning of the month, then she performs the full ritual bath and prays obligatory and voluntary prayers, even if the blood is flowing. But if she wants to pray, she washes the trace of the blood, then she protects herself with the known pads, then she performs the ablution by washing the four limbs: washing the face, then the hands, then wiping the head, then washing the feet. She prays obligatory and voluntary prayers. If the time for the second prayer enters, she does the same. If the time for the third prayer enters, she does the same. If the time for the fourth prayer enters, she does the same. If the time for the fifth prayer enters, she does the same. If it is difficult for her, she combines the midday and afternoon prayers, either combining them early or combining them late, and likewise the sunset and night prayers, either combining them late or combining them early. If she wants to pray a voluntary prayer, such as if she wants to pray the dawn voluntary prayer, for example, she performs the ablution when she intends to pray, as we described: she washes the place of impurity, she restrains herself, meaning she protects herself, then she performs the ablution and prays. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. This is a questioner who says in this question, O honorable Shaykh.
